Ongoing research Programs

Merger of electrochemical functionalization and solid supported catalysis: The merger of solid-supported metal nanoparticles catalyzed chemical transformations and electrochemical promoted organic synthesis can offer environmentally friendly and sustainable chemical transformations. These catalysts provide recovery and recycling of precious metal based catalysts, minimize the cost of a synthetic method and permit easy separation of catalysts and products. Electrochemical transition metals catalyzed chemical transformation provide a safer and cheaper chemical process avoiding the use of stoichiometric amounts of toxic, polluting, unnecessary chemical oxidants under environmentally friendly and sustainable conditions. Therefore, it would be highly fascinating to merge solid-supported catalysis and electrochemical synthesis., it would enable the full expansion of the scope of organic electrochemistry to new and unexplored dimensions.

Solid supported catalysis: Our group mainly focus on the metal nanoparticles supported on solid support catalyzed cross-coupling reactions.

Medicinal chemistry of hydroxytriazenes: This program centers on the medicinal applications of hydroxytriazenes ligands. The medicinal applications include 1) antidiabetic activity by α-glucosidase and α-amylase enzymes inhibition method 2) antioxidant activity by DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging methods 3) anti-inflammatory activity by carrageen induced paw edema in rates etc. Ultimately, we hope to develop multi-targeted potential molecules to treat diabetes, oxidative damages, and inflammation.

Bio Note

Dr. Prabhat Kumar Baroliya obtained his BSc degree from MLV Govt College Bhilwara in 2006 and MSc (Chemistry) degree from Mohanlal Sukhadia University (MLSU) Udaipur, India in 2008. He has completed his Ph.D. degree from MLSU in 2014 under the guidance of Professor AK Goswami. Dr. Baroliya joined MLSU as an assistant professor in February 2012. He has worked with Professor Debabrata Maiti, IIT Bombay under the Teachers Associateship for Research Excellence scheme of SERB India. His research interests include medicinal chemistry and heterogeneous catalysis over solid support. He has published 25 research articles in national and international journals.
